Meeting Highlights

TRADE SHOW

Coming to the Technical Meeting to improve your skills, broaden your knowledge and make new contacts? It all starts here: The Opening Reception. This will be your first look at ASBA’s trade show, with the newest products and services in the industry, plus the classic and dependable standards you’ve come to know and trust over the years. What’s on the market for the coming construction season? What will help you work smarter — not harder? What can really wow your customers? It’s all right here on the show floor.

The trade show will be open throughout the meeting at various times: during breaks, in the evenings and during some lunches. You can take the time to talk to your contacts, explore the broad spectrum of products and services and find out everything you need to know. Come and see why the exhibit hall is THE place to be!

OPENING BREAKFAST/GENERAL SESSION/AWARDS

Come in for breakfast and coffee. Catch up with your colleagues and join us for introductions. Help us recognize those who are attending the meeting for the first time (are you one of those?) as well as our 2017 award winners. Enjoy this opening session and get ready for a great meeting. You’ll learn what’s available to you and what to look forward to. Best of all, you’ll know you’re welcome at what promises to be one of our best meetings yet.

ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING

What was accomplished this year and how? What is on the agenda for next year? Attend the Association’s Annual Business Meeting during lunch on Sunday, December 3. You’ll meet the Board of Directors and learn what projects have been given priority status. You’ll hear explanations of how ASBA is doing, what our financial forecast is, and what the latest plans and projects are. If you always wondered where your dues went, and how the association operates, here’s your chance. Oh, and if you’ve been looking for a way to get more involved, here’s your opportunity to find out how.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Garrison Wynn, The REAL Truth About Success: What the Top 1% Do Differently and Why They Won’t Tell You

Prepare to laugh and learn as a decade of Wynn Solutions research reveals what makes owners and managers of top-performing businesses so effective – and it’s not what you’d expect! If you enter this keynote session expecting to learn all about best practices and superior strategy, you’d better read the title again. Standout success in a challenging economy often comes from personal advantage, whether it’s perceived value, personality, leadership style, communication skills, abundant resources, or access to privileged information. This entertaining session takes a realistic look at the influence you’ll need to make sure your knowledge and hard work deliver the results you want.

DIVISION MEETINGS

The Association has various divisions, serving the interests of member companies: Tennis, Track, Fields, Courts & Recreation, Design Professionals and Suppliers. Each division is responsible for specific projects, publications, tasks and more. This is the meeting where you can learn about the projects, issues and goals of your division. Find out how you can get involved. It’s a great opportunity to share your ideas and suggestions with your board representatives, to participate in developing and revising guidelines and position papers, to provide input to construction manuals and to express your views on important questions coming before the association.
