ASBA’s Regional Meeting: Bringing the Meeting to the Members

ASBA’s first Regional Meeting this year, held in New York City, was an overwhelming success. The event, which took place March 8-9, 2017, at the Marriott New York LaGuardia Airport, was well-attended and well-received.

The Regional Meeting provided a chance for sports facility contractors in the northeast to connect with one another – and to attend educational sessions on industry matters. The Association chose NYC as the site of its first meeting because of the high concentration of current ASBA members in the region, as well as the number of potential companies in the area who were not yet members.

An excellent program was offered, with speakers such as John Sulinski, vice president of operations and COO of LandTek, who spoke on the subject of “Technology in the Sports Field Construction at Citi Field,” including utilization of a sub air system and specialized drainage and irrigation connections.

In addition to industry education sessions, there was a reception/dinner/tour of the New York Mets' home, Citi Field, and a tour of the updated National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York.

With one successful meeting in the books, ASBA has begun planning the next one. Want to learn more? Keep an eye on this newsletter and on the website!
