Know a Trailblazer? Give RSI Their Name!

Do you know someone (or just know about someone) who has been a pioneer in the tennis industry, a real trailblazer who has helped shake things up? Racquet Sports Industry Magazine would like to know about that person. RSI is now in the second year of running its "Pioneers in Tennis" series of articles, about trailblazers in the sport, and is looking for nominations for people to be featured in future columns.

"Pioneers in Tennis" has carried information about those who have contributed to the industry on all levels, from groundbreaking athletes like Billie Jean King, to journalists like Gene Scott, to those who have studied the science of ball/racquet interactions like Dr. Howard Brody, to coaches like Vic Braden, to community activists like Eve Kraft, to those who have advanced the sport through racquet technology like Warren Bosworth, to the organizers of the Super Show. And those are just a few. Pioneers are those who have made outstanding contributions to the sport and to the industry -- which as we all know, has many levels of specialty and expertise.

ASBA members have been recognized too: Sheldon Westervelt, Bob Lee and Peggy Beard have all made the column, for their roles in advancing sports facility design and construction, association leadership and more.

Now it's your turn to help put the spotlight on someone you feel has been a pioneer. RSI welcomes nominations from you. Pioneers don't have to be ASBA members, though -- maybe it's someone else in the industry you think should be recognized for helping the sport move forward. Send an e-mail to with your suggestion.
