Get Connected at the Technical Meeting

Feeling like the busy season has pulled you away from everything but, well, being busy? It’s time to recharge your batteries and refresh your connections. Put ASBA’s Technical Meeting on your calendar and be prepared to get reconnected to the industry you’re a proud part of. This year’s Technical Meeting, to be held December 6-10 at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio, promises to be one of the best yet.

By now, you’ve seen that our keynote speaker will be Jim Morris, upon whose experiences the movie, “The Rookie,” starring Dennis Quaid, was based. Come and learn how you can connect your biggest goals with reality by listening to Jim’s thoughts and experiences. You’ll never have this chance again! Want to learn more about Jim? Check out this article in our last newsletter.

What else awaits you? ASBA’s Trade Show and Exhibit Hall, where you can learn about the products and services that can help you work smarter, not harder. On the fence about exhibiting? A few spots remain! Call the Association now to reserve yours.

This year’s program is second to none, with sessions addressing every membership division, as well as general business topics that cover matters of employment, law, planning and more. You won’t want to miss it. Plus, you don’t have to sign up for sessions in advance – you are free to attend the ones you want.

Thinking of taking the certification exam? It will be given at the meeting. For more information, see the article elsewhere in this newsletter.

Those who are looking for some downtime can try their hand at some friendly competition at the ASBA’s golf and tennis tournaments. Enjoy an afternoon outside in the company of colleagues, co-workers and, yes, competitors.

The Technical Meeting gives you the chance to re-connect with your friends and to meet new ones. With receptions, meals and ample opportunity for socializing, you’ll want to bring your business cards – and to have plenty of room in your pockets for new ones.
What else? You can find out about the Association’s progress and business, and you can learn who won some of ASBA’s awards!

You’ll also have the option to explore San Antonio, one of the most interesting cities around, with great restaurants and nightlife, sightseeing opportunities (remember The Alamo!), great shopping and more. The area is well-connected to the country by the San Antonio International Airport. The airport offers a shuttle service to major hotels, including the Grand Hyatt.

Another reason to make those plans? The weather! Average daytime temperatures in San Antonio in December are in the 60s – quite a welcome change for those who will be coming from winter weather in other parts of the country.

Our host hotel, the Grand Hyatt, is adjacent to the Riverwalk and all its attractions, and has plenty of its own advantages as well, including wi-fi, a business center, fitness facility, pool, coffee shop, bar and restaurant, as well as room service. You can stay connected to all the important things while still getting away from it all for a valuable industry experience.
Why delay registering? You know you want to be there. Make your plans today.
