FROM THE  CHAIR

It Has Been an Honor to Serve ASBA

With the economy picking up in many parts of the country, things seem to be getting busier. It’s probably time to dust off that list of contacts and start following up on projects that were “back-burnered” a couple years ago. Best wishes to all of us on making 2013 one of the best in recent years. DETAILS

MEETINGS

Make Connections at Technical Meeting 2013!

Feeling like the busy season has pulled you away from everything but, well, being busy? It’s time to recharge your batteries and refresh your connections. Put ASBA’s Technical Meeting on your calendar and be prepared to get reconnected to the industry you’re a proud part of. This year’s Technical Meeting, to be held December 6-10 at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio, promises to be one of the best yet. DETAILS

Connect a Colleague to ASBA!

Help us introduce prospective new members to all that ASBA and the Technical Meeting have to offer at the very special rate of $150 for their full registration. Invite your customers, colleagues or competitors to find out what they’ve been missing. Prospective members must be sponsored by a current member.

This special registration is designed to introduce new companies and individuals to the Association and IS NOT for non-members who regularly attend or for former members who have chosen not to renew. This rate is not for first time attendees who are representatives of member companies; to be eligible for the rate, individuals must meet established criteria.

Any member who sponsors a potential new member to attend the Technical Meeting under this special program will receive a $200 voucher good toward dues, meeting registration or other association goods or services if that member subsequently joins the Association. What a deal! Do a good deed for someone else and for the ASBA and you get rewarded too! Have questions? Call 866-501-ASBA (2722).

ASBA Winter Meeting - Put it on the Calendar!

It’s never too early to mark the calendar, particularly when you’re planning for maximum productivity.

The ASBA Winter Meeting, one of the best chances to help advance the mission of the Association, will be held February 21-23, 2014 at the Paradisus Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

Don’t miss your chance to help with committee and division work, publications, topics for future meetings and position papers, as well as so much more.

Information is expected to be available after the Technical Meeting. Members of ASBA will receive this automatically; all others can request to be put on the mailing list.

For information call 866-501-ASBA (2722) or www.sportsbuilders.org. Information will also be posted on the ASBA website automatically.

Tap into ASBA's Expertise

Want to find out some of the hot topics in the industry? Didn’t get a chance to attend certain sessions at a Technical Meeting and want to catch up? Now you can.

ASBA offers copies of the PowerPoint presentations made during recent Technical Meeting sessions. Those presentations are available free of charge on the website. Click here to see them.

Presentations are organized according to the year of each Technical Meeting, stretching back to 2003. Click on each year to get a list of available presentations, including the name of the presenter.

It is free to download and view the presentations. ASBA reminds its website users that the presentations were made at past meetings, using the knowledge of ASBA member contractors and others; however, the information contained in the presentations should not be considered the only recommendation of the Association in terms of construction technique, materials, etc.

In the interest of (a) staying more eco-friendly and (b) not burdening meeting attendees with handouts, ASBA has gone electronic-only with its handouts. All presentation materials are uploaded directly to ASBA’s websites following Technical Meetings.

May We Quote You?

One of ASBA’s most important programs is its technical articles, which are written for trade magazines in various segments of the industry, including tennis, track, indoor and fields facilities. We are always looking for our members to comment on, and be quoted in these articles. This is an excellent chance to help raise ASBA’s profile, and in an ancillary capacity, to increase visibility for your company. If you would like to be quoted in these articles, please send an e-mail to Mary Helen Sprecher at mhsprecher@verizon.net

Please indicate your area(s) of expertise: Tennis, Track, Indoor, Fields so that we do not bother you with excess e-mail. You can be added to more than one mailing list if you wish.

If you have previously sent Mary Helen an e-mail asking to be added to her e-mail list, you do not need to request again. However, if your e-mail has changed and you have not been receiving questions, please contact her with your current e-mail address.
