Make Connections at Technical Meeting 2013!

Get the Technical Meeting on your calendar and be prepared to get connected. This year’s event, to be held December 6-10 at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio, promises to be one of the best yet.

This Year’s Connections…
The theme of this year’s meeting is “Connections,” and attending means you will be able to connect with the industry in every way, including:

  • Learning about the latest technical developments, problem-solving tools and technology available in the meeting itself

  • Hearing great speakers and getting new perspectives

  • Getting connected to new segments of the industry by meeting new people

  • Re-connecting with friends and colleagues who are sure to be there too

  • Learning about the products and services that can help you work smarter, not harder, in this year’s Trade Show and Exhibit Hall. (As a matter of fact, this year’s hall will have a Sports Bar/Cyber Café theme, and will be called “Connections”)

  • Recharging while enjoying friendly competition with colleagues at the golf and tennis outings

The meeting will also ‘connect’ attendees with a number of great opportunities. You’ll also have the option to explore San Antonio, one of the most interesting cities around, with great restaurants and nightlife, sightseeing opportunities (remember The Alamo!), great shopping and more.

Staying Connected to Everything…
Our host hotel, the Grand Hyatt, is adjacent to the Riverwalk and all its attractions, and has plenty of its own advantages as well, including wi-fi, a business center, fitness facility, pool, coffee shop, bar and restaurant, as well as room service. You can stay connected to all the important things while still getting away from it all for a valuable industry experience.

A Keynote Speaker You’ll Connect With…
Another great connection you’ll make? ASBA’s amazing keynote speaker, Jim Morris, upon whose experiences the movie, “The Rookie,” starring Dennis Quaid, was based. Come and learn how you can connect your biggest goals with reality by listening to Jim’s thoughts and experiences. You’ll never have this chance again! (For more information, see the article about Jim elsewhere in this newsletter).

San Antonio is an Easy Connecting Flight…
The area is well-connected to the country by the San Antonio International Airport. The airport offers a shuttle service to major hotels, including the Grand Hyatt. (More information about this and other transit will be available as the meeting date nears).
Another reason to make those plans? The weather! Average daytime temperatures in San Antonio in December are in the 60s – quite a welcome change for those who will be coming from winter weather in other parts of the country.

Connect Someone Else and Get Connected to Rewards!

Help us introduce prospective new members to all that ASBA and the Technical Meeting have to offer at the very special rate of $150 for their full registration. Invite your customers, colleagues or competitors to find out what they’ve been missing. Prospective members must be sponsored by a current member.

This special registration is designed to introduce new companies and individuals to the Association and IS NOT for non-members who regularly attend or for former members who have chosen not to renew. This rate is not for first time attendees who are representatives of member companies; to be eligible for the rate, individuals must meet established criteria.

Any member who sponsors a potential new member to attend the Technical Meeting under this special program will receive a $200 voucher good toward dues, meeting registration or other association goods or services if that member subsequently joins the Association. What a deal! Do a good deed for someone else and for the ASBA and you get rewarded too!

Members will receive the Technical Meeting registration brochure information automatically; all others can request to have their names put on the list by calling 866-501-ASBA (2722) or by checking the website, www.sportsbuilders.org, where information will be posted as soon as it becomes available.

So get the date on your calendar, and prepare yourself to make connections!

…And while you’re at it, take this date down too!

ASBA’s 2014 Winter Meeting will be held from February 21-23 at the Paradisus Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

This meeting will offer an excellent chance to work on ASBA projects and publications, as well as to enjoy some downtime before the season heats up.
Information on this meeting will also be sent to members automatically, while others can request information using the same number shown above.
