ASBA Members Step Up
|

Mark Brogan, CTCB
ASBA Chairman |
With summer underway, we’re all
busy and I want to thank you for taking time out of your schedule to
read Newsline and the Chairman’s Message.
In the Spring Newsline, I
encouraged you to participate in the survey that had been sent to all
members and stressed the importance of the survey to ASBA. I’m pleased
to report that we had a phenomenal response from our members – over 37%
of our members (131 companies). Such a response for an association
survey of that length is almost unheard of. The Board will be reviewing
the composite results of the survey in great detail at our July board
meeting in Baltimore. We will be looking at what is working; what is not
working; and the suggestions you’ve made for constructive changes.
Thanks for taking the time to contribute to this process. |

I’m pleased to announce that the
new Tennis Courts: A Construction
and Maintenance Manual is in
circulation. If you haven’t
purchased your copy, please
contact ASBA Headquarters. The
7th edition of the manual has
been greatly enhanced. I
sincerely appreciate the time
and effort from the JEB individuals who worked on
the new book. The new Running
Tracks: Construction and
Maintenance manual is expected
to be in circulation by the end
of July. Advanced orders are
being accepted now at discounted
rates. Contact Cynthia Jordan at ASBA headquarters to place your
order. Many thanks to the ASBA
volunteers who have contributed
to this editorial process over
the past year!
December seems like a long way
off, but it will be here before
we know it. I hope you have
November 30-December 3 on your
calendars and that you’re
planning to be at the ASBA
Technical Meeting in Orlando.
Promotional materials will be
sent out later this summer. We
are in the process of soliciting
sponsorships and exhibitors for
the TM now. We are further ahead
in the process than we have been
in years past – with some new
supplier companies participating
for the first time. We represent
an important market for many of
these suppliers. As you are
working with your suppliers –
please thank them for supporting
ASBA – our industry trade
association. If they’re not
supporting ASBA, please
encourage them to join the
Association and have a presence
at the TM in Orlando.
Have a great summer! |
