Those who are making tracks for
the Big Apple in time for the
U.S. Open might want to know
about something new for tennis:
the one-day "The Tennis Show”— a
celebration of the sport that
will feature a Trade Show, the
TIA Tennis Forum, and the Tennis
Industry Hall of Fame Awards
Ceremony.
The
Tennis Show, which is
co-presented by the Tennis
Industry Association and the
USTA, will take place at the
Grand Hyatt. It leads into the
USTA's Tennis Teachers'
Conference (TTC) Opening Session
and attendee cocktail party. The
Tennis Show takes place on
Saturday, Aug. 27 (which earlier
in the day is also Arthur Ashe
Kids’ Day at the National Tennis
Center):
A
brief timeline, for those who
want to mark their calendars:
-
2 p.m. at the Grand Hyatt in Manhattan, the
Trade Show opens.
-
5:30 p.m., the TIA Tennis Forum with TIA
President Jon Muir followed by the Tennis Industry Hall of Fame Award
Ceremony, then the TTC Opening Session.
-
7 p.m., the Trade Show reopens.
Note: Registration for events
other than The Tennis Show,
including the Tennis Teachers
Conference and the TIA Tennis
Forum, are held separately.
Information on those two can be
obtained through USTA (for the
Tennis Teachers Conference) and
TIA (for the Tennis Forum).
