Calling all social media moguls
(or wannabe moguls): ASBA is now
on Facebook and LinkedIn. Are
you following us?
Facebook: Those who are
already on Facebook can "Like"
the page (filed under American
Sports Builders Association).
Once you've done that, you'll
receive regular notifications of
what's trending now:
notifications from the
Association, news stories
pertaining to athletic facility
design and construction and
more.
Chances are, once you start
following ASBA, you'll be able
to catch up with industry
colleagues as well -- many of
whom have their own Facebook
pages (for themselves as well as
their companies).
LinkedIn: If you're
already on LinkedIn, you'll find
the American Sports Builders
Association listed under
"Groups." Follow ASBA and you'll
receive regular e-mail
notifications of industry
discussions and more. Join the
talk or just hover in the
background and take it all in.
You can also connect with fellow
industry members and make new
contacts.
Both ASBA's Facebook and
LinkedIn accounts are always
looking for input from you. Have
an industry question? Want to
post an interesting link? Share
a news story? It's all possible,
and all very welcome. ASBA is
hoping for more member use of
its social media and is looking
forward to increasing its
involvement there. Your
questions and suggestions for
how we can do our job better are
also welcome! Call Laura Izzo at
443-640-1030 x110, or contact
her via e-mail at
laura@ksgroup.org.
And if you're just considering
diving into the social media
pool, you're in luck. A special
session at the ASBA Technical
Meeting this December, " Get a
Social (Media) Life: Marketing
Your Business with Facebook,
Twitter and LinkedIn," will deal
with all these topics. It'll
give you a from-the-ground-up
look at what you can accomplish
-- often totally free of charge.
Best of all, it's presented by
ASBA members just like you, so
come and hear what your
colleagues have to say about the
new media.
