Coming Soon: The New Issue of Indoor Sports Surfaces: A Construction and Maintenance Manual

ASBA continues to update its publications, to keep them consistent with new technologies, new standards and the needs of athletes, officials and spectators. The book, Indoor Sports Surfaces: A Construction and Maintenance Manual, will be the next to be published, and is expected in fall of 2014.

The new publication will include chapters on all aspects of indoor sports surfacing. Chapters include the following:

  • Getting Started

  • Planning and Design Considerations

  • Choosing a Surface

  • Installation of Indoor Sports Flooring

  • Bleachers and Sports Flooring

  • Indoor Track and Field Facilities

  • Care and Maintenance, Repairs and Reconstruction

  • Sources of Information (lists of governing bodies, etc.

  • Partial List of Testing Agencies

  • Glossary of Terms

  • Index of Drawings

Advertising is currently for sale in this book and is expected to go quickly. Premium positions (inside front and back covers as well as facing chapter title pages) are available. Also available is advertising within chapters.

The Indoor Division has been hard at work on this publication, and continues to develop the manuscript for the book. In addition to several new chapters (Bleachers and Sports Flooring, and a Partial List of Testing Agencies, for example), this publication includes input from the Maple Flooring Manufacturers Association (MFMA) in the interest of presenting a more balanced, increasingly informative publication.
