ASBA Winter Meeting a
Success
Escaping from winter's snow and
ice (or even from places where there isn't snow and ice) and heading
for the Bahamas? That always sounds good. Doing it in order to catch
up with industry colleagues and advance initiatives in the ASBA?
That's even better.

Relations/Marketing Tools Available to ASBA Members
In an effort to help ASBA members promote themselves through the media,
we have developed a “PR Toolbox” available to all members through the
Members-only page of our website.
The PR Toolbox contains a series of templates that can be used to draft
press releases on personnel promotions, company milestones, award
recognition, certifications, etc. The templates will make it easy for
member companies to draft a press release on newsworthy items/events, to
submit to local newspapers, business journals and industry trade
magazines.
Take advantage of these free tools to promote your company’s successes!
Builders: Get Certified
at Technical Meeting
Thinking of taking your construction and maintenance
knowledge to the next level? The opportunity is waiting for you at
ASBA's Technical Meeting, when certification exams
will be given. The meeting will be held Dec. 2-5 at the J.W. Marriott
Resort & Spa in Palm Desert, California. The exam will be given on
Saturday, December 3. (The exam can also be taken at other times by
making arrangements directly with ASBA's staff.)
Certification
is offered in tennis (the
Certified Tennis Court Builder, or CTCB
designation), track (Certified
Track Builder, CTB) and sports
fields. The designation of
Certified Field Builder, CFB,
indicates a knowledge of both
natural and synthetic fields;
alternatively, those interested
may choose to pursue a
designation of CFB-N (Certified
Field Builder-Natural) or CFB-S
(Certified Field
Builder-Synthetic), each
indicating a different
specialty.

Build It Wrong!
How should a contractor respond when the
owner or designer directs that some aspect of construction be
accomplished in a fashion that the contractor believes will not be
successful, violates applicable specifications or standards, or in the
worst case, will result in an unsafe condition at the facility?
