Careers in Tennis Initiative Available

It’s all about the American Dream: kid comes out of college, lands an entry level job and starts working in his or her chosen field.

But what if the kid’s dream is a job in the tennis industry? Maybe this grad loves the game but is realistic about his or her ability: a competitive career isn’t in the cards, but another tennis-related job could be. Maybe in sales or service of equipment or materials. Maybe in design or construction of facilities. Maybe as a teaching pro or a club manager. There are a lot of jobs out there, but how to get the metaphorical foot (wearing a tennis shoe or not) in the door?

It was with this idea that TIA launched its “Careers In Tennis” initiative. The website, (http://www.careersintennis.com/), allows employers to post jobs, and allows potential employees to check out the opportunities. It is free to use for both those looking to fill jobs, and those interested in finding jobs.

ASBA members looking to hire someone with tennis-specific interest or experience are urged to check out the site. There is also a Careers In Tennis page on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Careers-In-Tennis/), showcasing various opportunities and explaining the initiative.

Registration for Careers In Tennis is free. In the website section detailing jobs in the facility design and construction industry, there is a link to ASBA’s website as well -- all the more reason to make sure your information in the ASBA member database is updated and accurate.
