ASBA Technical Meeting
Recap
|
|
If
you were at the ASBA's recent Technical Meeting, you know how valuable
it was. The opening general session by Robert Stevenson, whose
alternately serious and humorous take on business practices ("How the
Best Got Better") kicked off the 2010 event. From that point on,
sessions of all kind continued to entertain and enlighten participants.
The programming for the meeting had something for all divisions: Tennis,
Track, Indoor and Fields, plus general business topics. Within
divisional programming, topics ranged from highly technical ("Vapor
Emission Testing," presented as part of the Indoor track) to interactive
(such as the Tennis Division's "Problem-Solving Roundtable and Tricks of
the Trade.")
Divisional meetings were held to address ASBA's four facility divisions,
while at separate times, two other meetings were held (Professional and
Supplier) in order to allow those with interests in specific types of
facilities to attend those meetings as well.
Perhaps the only unfortunate thing about the ASBA Technical Meeting was
the fact that participants often had to decide between various
high-quality programs. To catch up on anything you missed (or if you
weren't at the meeting, to get a sample of the great sessions that were
offered), go to ASBA's website,
www.sportsbuilders.org, then choose "Events" from the top menu bar.
From the drop-down menu, click on "Technical Meeting Presentations." All
presentations are presented in .pdf format.
Note: Like what you see here? Don't miss the 2011 meeting. Make plans to
attend ASBA's premier event -- it will be held December 1-6 at the J.W.
Marriott Resort & Spa in Palm Springs, California. Information will be
sent to all ASBA members automatically, but others can request to be
added to the list by contacting the Association directly at 866-501-ASBA
(2722), or by going to the web site,
www.sportsbuilders.org.
